Functions of PMO

PMO Punjab Barrages was established in 2004 within Irrigation Department for implementation of the barrage projects through ICB contracts.  Functions of the PMO are:
  • Preparation of TORs, RFPs and procurement of consultants;
  • Review of feasibility studies, detailed design, PC-Is, PQ and bidding documents for barrage projects;
  • Assigning finances;
  • Procurement of contracts;
  • Oversee the construction supervision consultants during implementation of barrage projects;
  • Environmental and social impact mitigation measures;
  • Monitoring and reporting project implementation progress;
  • Client for contracts management;
  • Financial management i.e. disbursement and re-imbursement from financiers; and
  • Coordination for Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) – emergent repairs on barrages.
